The MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) sector in Haryana, like in many other states in India, plays a crucial role in the economic development of the region. Haryana has been actively working towards promoting and supporting MSMEs through various initiatives, policies, and schemes aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, job creation, and industrial growth.
The Government of Haryana has implemented several measures to support MSMEs, such as providing financial assistance, infrastructure support, skill development programs, and incentives like subsidies and tax benefits. Additionally, the state government has been focusing on improving ease of doing business for MSMEs by simplifying regulations, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and offering online services for registrations and approvals.
The govt. of India defines MSMEs on the basis of dual criteria of investment & turnover as follows:
| Classification | Micro | Small | Medium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Investment in Plant and Machinery or Equipment | <2.5 Crore | <25 Crore | <125 Crore |
| Annual Turnover | <10 Crore | <100 Crore | <500 Crore |
